- Stress and Hormones - While stress does not directly cause back acne, it can create excess production of androgens (hormones) which in turn increases the level of sebum (oil) production and often results in body acne from clogged pours.
- Perspiration - sweating creates excess oil which can lead to clogged pours and back acne if it is not cleaned quickly and properly.
- Friction and Tight Clothing - Particulary while sweating from hot weather, working out etc. Tight clothing can cause skin irritation from friction and constant rubbing.
