Stretch Mark Questions and Answers

Over time we have received many questions regarding stretch marks. Below is a compilation of our most frequently asked questions regarding stretch marks along with answers from our Beauty Advisors.

Stretch Marks Q & A

What Causes Stretch Marks?

Stretch marks are most typically caused by rapid weight gain or loss. The rapid growth puts stress on the skin which results in striations in the middle layer of the skin.

Who Gets Stretch Marks?

Anyone can get stretch marks. Rapid growth due to pregnancy, hormones in teen years, body builders and others who have rapid weight gain or loss are the most likely to get stretch marks.

What Areas On The Body Get Stretch Marks?

The areas most likely to get stretch marks are the stomach, hips, breasts, thighs and under arms. Other areas may get stretch marks, however, these are the most common body parts.

How Do I Prevent Stretch Marks?

While stretch marks can heal, it is much easier to prevent them in the first place. Avoiding rapid weight gain or loss is the best way to prevent stretch marks. If you are pregnant or in another form of period of growth, you can help prevent stretch marks by keeping your skin moisturized. We highly recommend using a stretch mark cream and/or oil to help with the elasticity of your skin and allow your growth or weight loss to occur without over stretching.

What Is The Best Way To Prevent Stretch Marks During Pregnancy?

Pregnancy is perhaps the largest reason why women get stretch marks. Your belly is growing so fast that your skin simply cannot keep up with it! To prevent the stretch marks from appearing during pregnancy, we recommend using the erbaorganics stretch mark cream every morning and the erbaorganics stretch mark oil at night. Using the two products in conjunction with each other will provide the best results in preventing stretch marks during your pregnancy.

Can Stretch Marks Go Away?

Once you have stretch marks, you can reduce there appearance with stretch mark creams and vitamin e, but without surgery, they will not disappear all together.

Do Tall Women Get Stretch Marks?

Tall women may get stretch marks because of a rapid growth spurt, but not all tall women will get stretch marks. It all depends on how quickly you grow and your skin’s elasticity since everyone’s skin is different.

What Natural Ingredients Get Rid of Stretch Marks?

When searching for a skin care product to help get rid of stretch marks, natural ingredients including vitamin e (tocopherol), cocoa butter, shea butter, aloe vera, grape seed oil are always beneficial.
